Stop Obama's sneak attack on GMO labeling! Stand up for your right to know what's in your food-Sign the Petition
If the U.S. government has its way, the powerful intergovernmental group Codex may soon make it impossible to label food "GMO-free" for any country in the world. Originally created in 1963 to design international food safety and labeling standards under the auspices of the United Nations, today Codex is recognized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) to settle disputes regarding food and agricultural trade agreements.
On May 3rd, 2010 Obama officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will travel to a special meeting to propose that Codex reject common sense labeling laws regarding GMO food products and try to force Codex to adopt more restrictive global regulations that hinder your right to know what's in your food. Your welcome and thank you Nikki! Now let's see if this actually has any effect on the outcome. If these bastards had their way all food would be GMO probably, with the exception of the food on their plates as is usually the case. We'd get the table scraps like dogs.
