An oil and gas well being drilled in Morgan County leaked natural gas and drilling mud, forcing the evacuation of area homeowners while emergency crews try to contain the fluids that reached a nearby creek.
The leak was discovered Sunday evening, when initial reports said 10 gallons per minute were spilling from a well being drilled by PDC Energy of Colorado. The company plans to use fracking after the drilling is complete to release natural gas and oil from the shale.
