I love Bill Hicks. He's one of my top 5 favorite comedians. He got a lot funnier after he died at the age of 32. Whatever it takes...
I want to share a YouTube comment & my reply, regarding the last joke of this video.
Apparently the commenter thought I was making a joke about my father molesting me as a child:
"Your father was right-handed, what? Did he misuse you, don't get that point... Please, explain, tx."
Deep Space Reply:
'Cliff Notes' for last joke:Character is venting towards the dysfunctionalness of his left hand, with respect to his right hand.Character states that he may be guilty of “projecting”(hinting that he is carrying child-hood issues with respect to his disapproving father)A tried-and-true archetypal dynamic in human psychology.Character misleads audience, by not sealing a connection with him being belittled by his father;but instead, draws the connection to his father being right-handed;(something irrelevant & trivial with respect to what the audience has been misdirected to)That misdirection is the comedy.I might be a few decades ahead of my time, with respect to writing comedy(or a really shitty joke writer)one or the other;but in the meantime I'm happy to provide 'Cliff-Notes'until everyone else catches up.But of course by then, if they do finally catch on, I'll be long dead& that's when the masses might finally awaken to appreciate my true comedic intent...That's the price you pay for being ahead of your time.(or not funny at all)Now *that's* comedy!
funny stuff dude!
