A sampling of two major events that occurred from across the globe from each other occurred in 1959. In that year the Russian and Americans were fighting tooth and nail to outdo each other in the space race, but the US was a also enjoying an unparalleled economic prosperity. The years of peace since WWII and the Korean War had yielded a peace time bounty of affluence for many Americans in the middle class. Despite the “Cold War” Americans saw fiscal growth and a growing car business in Detroit between the “Big Three” Ford, GM, and Chrysler. This meant jobs and the kind of salary that made big car ownership affordable.
However, something else happened. In Dallas, millionaire Clint Murchison hired Don Meredith, All American from SMU as future quarterback of a new expansion franchise that would be the Dallas Cowboys, one of the most flamboyant teams in NFL Football history. Tom Landry, former defensive backfield player coach, for the New York Giants would be the head coach. Tom would become one of the great innovators of offensive and defensive strategy of the game. Don Meredith would lead the Cowboys to 4 consecutive season playoffs before retiring unexpectedly, and becoming a celebrity on ABC Monday Night football.
However, in sharp contrast to American quality of life was the Soviet Union under the iron fist of the Russian politburo and a largely peasant population relying heavily on big government central planning by ideologues who valued the state over the life of the individual. A brutal winter was underway that year and a group of elite young hikers and cross country skiers were about to make a trek into the wilderness to show off their top of the line government taught survival skills. They would make plans and arrangements to hike up into Dyatlov Pass in the Ural Mountains to challenge Mother Nature at her harshest, and show that the Soviet willpower could overcome anything. However, things would not turn out as planned.
Nine athletic youths, a mapped assault for their daring hike, and provisions were all included. What was thought to have been a routine yet hard fought journey was about to begin. Little would they know what awaited them. In the decades that have transpired since, questions about the horrid fate of the hikers and who or what caused the catastrophe have been debated, speculated upon, and have been the subject of many documentaries and until recently no definitive answers have been determined until now. Before there had been excuses, cover-ups, and vague evidence that revealed little.
In an ill-timed and probably ill-advised time of the harsh Russian winter, the nine elite youths, supposed experts at survival and marathon demands, departed into the wilderness and for a gradual ascent into the Ural Mountain slopes that would lead to mystery and unexplained death. Just a few days into their journey, curious things began to happen. Some of the members felt uneasy as if being watched, One hiker turned back saying that she did not feel up to the task. A photo later recovered by investigators shows an eerie figure out in the woods apparently paralleling the group! Supposedly equipped for any eventuality, they continued onto to their rendezvous with fate.
Then it happened. A severe blizzard forcing the remaining 8 members to establish tents and a campsite was decided upon! Yet, the high freezing winds made it impossible for a campfire, so they zipped up their tents, wore thermal underwear to remain comfortable, and tried to ride out the storm, but their plans were met with terrible tragedy! When they failed to reach their objective, it took 2 days for authorities to respond. Local police formed a search and rescue team to investigate.
What they discovered were grizzly signs of blunt force trauma, mutilation, and tents that had been cut from the inside out and the scantily clad bodies of the hikers who had run out into the blizzard, where they has met their horrid deaths. Two groups were found with 3 bodies frozen, half buried in the snow and ice. They were apparently subjected to severe blows that had broken ribs and fractured skulls. The female was discovered with an exposed chest and a face that had apparently been gnawed on. Next to her were the bodies of two others, brutally beaten by what seemed super human strength!
A half mile from the campsite more bodies were found! In the same unclothed condition, succumbed to the extreme frozen temperatures with savage wounds! However, there something strange was noted by investigators. Someone had been to scene of the crime before the investigators and had obviously tampered with the forensics! Who, they did not know at the time. Some speculated that the Russian Army had already gone over the scene of death and taken photos and even samples. Why would they not cooperate with the local authorities? Such is the way of USSR government conduct, nothing is ever clear or presented up front, and it is usually presented as in whatever version of information is released to the public.
Speculations ran wild. A local tribe was blamed for attacking the hikers they thought had violated their territory, but investigators considered this a dead end. That an avalanche had occurred and had devastated the victims under thousands of pounds of snow that had ground down from the mountain slopes was strongly suspected of causing the brutal injuries, but still it just didn’t add up! Perhaps the hikers had gotten fatal hypothermia, one of the last symptoms being a sense of heat stroke as the body begins to shut down and blood flow prioritizes only the main organs. The Russian Army was suspected of conducting deadly nuclear experiments as reported unknown lights in the night sky had been received by the police. One final conclusion and the most ominous of all was the possibility that the Almasty, a Bigfoot like creature, had massacred the hikers! The extent of the injuries suffered by the Russian athletes seemed to indicate such an attack.
However, thanks to pressure by the families of the victims, the Russian government becoming more forthright and less oppressive than its previous Soviet incarnation, new evidence had come to light. Some released military government held in secrecy were finally disclosed by officials who had done some considerable digging. Mistrust of the Soviet government had left bitter aggravation among families and those who had witnessed the launch of the hiker’s expedition. After several white wash reports submitted by the government over the years, still suspicions and doubts remained.
Recently the truth was finally unveiled! As was suspected initially, the Russian Army had been involved, and top secret files described Psyops being tested during official yet secretive army maneuvers were underway, and the hikers had unwittingly stumbled upon live weaponry and lethal instrumentality being used! The Russian Army made no effort to spare the hapless hikers! They more likely were going to experiment upon the unarmed civilians and then liquidate them in order to cover up their sinister operations so as to eliminate any witnesses!
What kinds of operations were underway? Complete methods of inflicting psychological confusion and lethal mental assaults upon a perceived threat by an enemy were deployed against the innocent hikers. Microwave beams were projected upon the tents which caused the inhabitants within to start feeling as though they were being cooked alive, of course they would have panicked and cut their way out of their tents! Lights seen in the skies by locals were launched as unconventional flares to appear as unusual aircraft of some kind, maybe flying saucers! So the complete landscape upon which these hikers would normally have struggled against the elements over was now a war zone, and they would become the guinea pigs to be slaughtered once the testing had been completed.
As the horrific experiments were being unleashed by Russian troops, a full array of Soviet scientific instruments were running and taking readings! The hikers didn’t have a chance, the Russian Army was merciless! They had victimized their own citizens! The first initial report turned in by the Russian Army had been the arrival of patrols who had beaten the local police to the crime scene, taking samples to evaluate radiation on bodies and articles of clothing and tent fabric. Bodies had even been stacked upon each other which further confused efforts of the police to figure out just what hell had happened! So, the first arrival of the Russian Army had nothing to do with rescue or solving the case, this was a full cover-up!
We would like to think as Americans who observe a US Constitution that advocates the rights of the individual over the state would be honored, but there have been doubts over the years with assassinations of the inconvenient people who stand in the way of the Deep State. The Incident at Dyatlov Pass epitomizes just what happens when oppressive government is willing to crush the weak and unsuspecting when it’s convenient for them!
