ha ha ha... the onion... the clever buggers :) Yep, we are definetely living in very interesting times these days. It looks as if Hagel has enough support in the Senate so he should be confirmed. What happens after that is a big question mark???

President Obama plans to nominate former senator Chuck Hagel, a Nebraska Republican and Vietnam veteran, to be secretary of defense on Monday, according to two people close to the process.

The White House informed the Hagel camp over the weekend that Obama intends to announce the nomination at the White House on Monday, although there remained the slight possibility it could slip until Tuesday because of scheduling issues.
