THANKS

whimsical notion DS...would the same be said for books? just cause its on the internet.... :)

I would be horrified if the books where destroyed

The internet I am not so sure, I sure as h*ll would miss it for awhile. The at my finger tip information and friends I have made. But do feel that other things would begin to fill my time.

Books are the hard copy of the web in a matter of speaking.

No. I guess I'm referring (in a bad way) to the fact that virtually everything digital is likely to be deleted. Conquerors don't like to leave traces of history around.

when we are at our best here, it is a collaboration. This comes from discussions, info and opinions added to members post IMO

When one deletes their work, all of our contributions to their post go with them. This in addition to time wasted by myself and others whom share these post elsewhere...these links will now go in to infinity.

I think most folks would leave their work here had they considered this or were simply aware when they left that they could choose to leave it all.

And yes the net is scrubbed of info , and it has always been important to me to preserve what we can, for it may be the last of it otherwise.

A largely effective Faraday Cage is your average micro-wave oven. Back-Up what you think is worth preserving on a hard-drive & stick it in one. (definitely unplug it first). Should be well-guarded against any EMP attack or solar flare. Either that or print your shit to paper.

Yes, make sure to unplug before putting your hard drive in micro DS ;)!

I've put the word out to all my friends & acquaintances to donate their crapped-out micro-ovens to me.

Your microwave Faraday cage will work but far more effective if the green earth ground wire (the '3rd prong some electrical power cables lack) is grounded. break off the flat power prongs with pliers and cover with electrical tape then plug in or solder the green wire to a piece of copper pipe and drive it most of the way into the ground

RA, quit, deleted hundred of post - many of which I shared across the net, now all dead - thanks pal

wtf???....why???
