Update**Conflicting reports are coming in, one reporter stated that their was no flurry of activity in Laredo, Texas at all.
Update *** – Due to the enormous amount of sites who have reported on this, we felt the need to at the very least put it out there. I have spoken to a few people in the area and one has indicated that nothing is going on and the other was unsure. Kimberly is standing by her story, and until we get more reports I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt due to her being a credible reporter and the connections she has established. Los Zetas drug cartel seizes 2 U.S. ranches in Texas

In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas.
Two sources inside the Laredo Police Department confirmed the incident is unfolding and they would continue to coordinate with U.S. Border Patrol today. “We consider this an act of war,” said one police officer on the ground near the scene. There is a news blackout of this incident at this time and the sources inside Laredo PD spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Word broke late last night that Laredo police have requested help from the federal government regarding the incursion by the Los Zetas. It appears that the ranch owners have escaped without incident but their ranches remain in the hands of the blood thirsty cartels.

Let's ask why? Why would the armed cartels be fighting over the turf? Obviously, IMO, drugs are brought into the US through Laredo. Is that a valid deduction, or not?
Is law enforcement at this POE stopping drug trafficking? Is the border secure?
Why would Mayor Salinas be asking Washington DOJ for assistance?

TORIES ABOUT TEXAS RANCH AND BORDER SITUATIONS CLEARED UP

In an effort to get to the bottom of this situation, I have personally contacted the Laredo Police Department (2 calls) and a few credible people connected with the problems dealing with the border crisis on a daily basis – two issues being crossed together. Here’s what I just learned first hand.
Crisis number one - along the border bodies were discovered on the Mexican side of the border, believed to have been dumped by the Las Zetos Cartel gang. Crisis number two – scuffle on two Texas Ranches along the border on the American side of the border with illegal immigrants. Crisis number three – there have in fact been a gun-battle stand off in Nuevo Laredo in recent days, which left twelve fatally wounded and twenty-one injured. Therefore, three separate incidents have been some how, some way, combined into one explosive issue. They are three separate incidents and not impeding on private citizens as of yet.
According to Police sources within the Laredo Police Department, as of this evening, there have been no Texas Ranches being seized by members of the Las Zetos Cartel or any other Mexican Cartel. They would know wouldn’t they? There have been many situations involving Las Zetos and other cartel raiders along the border, but they are contained on the other side of the border.
Individuals who have flooded the switchboards of the Laredo Police Department and the Webb Sheriff’s Department have been asking one question: is there a problem down along the border? They have received the same response just as I received when I asked the same question, “Yes, there is a problem down here and it’s serious,” said one law enforcement source. When asked if there is any truth to the rumors of a Texas Rancher having their property taken over by the Cartel on this side of the border their response was clear, “Hell no and I’d know, I’m a 9-11 operator.”
As you can see it's all about how you ask the question in order to receive the correct answer when inquiring into such a seriously volatile situations. When you call any police department along the border and ask if there is a problem down their way, of course they will say there is for sure. They deal with border issues every day and yes, there is a serious problem down their way. Therefore, please be sure to ask the right questions before posting out to the masses about this issue. I for one am guilty today of doing the same as all of you, which is why I made the phone calls and asked the right questions to quell this situation once and for all.
