Helping Japanese Earthquake Victims Without the Inevitable Rip-off (Original Article)

Japan is the latest in what seems to be an endless series of nations that need urgent disaster relief, in this case due to the recent earthquake and tsunamai, not to mention a possible nuclear meltdown if fortune does not favor them.

If you are anything like me though you will remember all of those "relief funds" in the past that did little or nothing for people facing a crises and chose to line their own pockets instead or simply to divert much of the money towards other causes than what it was originally intended for. Personally I NEVER give money to disaster relief efforts for this simple reason that the money hardly ever gets to the people it was intended for.

Perhaps we should try something different this time though and instead of letting our heart felt largess be siphoned off to a trickle by American or European philanthropy fat cats we should instead try giving money directly to a Japanese organization. With that thought in mind I did a bit of research and managed to find a Japanese organization with international disaster relief experience with offices in Tokyo.

Now keep in mind that my brief research was confined to finding such an organization. I cannot and will not be held responsible if it turns out they have emulated the west and diverted the funds into a study of Japanese lolita fashion fetishists. Hopefully the Japanese might do a better job of saving Japan than some rich "philanthropist" in NYC though.

Should you care to give the idea a try here is the organization I found online. Feel free to add other possibilities in the comments should you have any thoughts on that.

I added the video of this Frenchman in Japan. If you go to You Tube and look at his channel I think yoy who can and wii, could help him. He wants to help the homeless and especially the children. He has never hinted about money. That's not why he started making these updates. It was to let the world know what's going on there. Because like here, the gov. in Japan is hiding the truth also. But someone who sees his vids offered to help set something up. I don't know if they have yet. He wants nothing and I believehe is an honest man. Check it out. His real name is Alex.

I don't trust many of these disaster relief efforts myself and would definetely like to find a way to give knowing that it will directly go to the people in Japan that are suffering right now instead of lining an undesirables pocket's.

Thanks Mark, it definetely looks worthy enough to check into :)
