Flu Preparedness is Key in 2009SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
As a proud member of FEMA`s National Preparedness Month Coalition, the

California Pharmacists Association is helping to coordinate efforts of

pharmacies throughout the state in promoting the Ready America message to: get a

kit, make a plan, be informed and get involved. 



Pharmacists and pharmacies will be uniquely positioned at the center of the H1N1

crisis that is expected this fall and are swiftly preparing to participate in

state-wide vaccinations and dissemination of information. "We anticipate that

pharmacies will be on the front lines helping the public as a two-way source of

information regarding H1N1 outbreaks and an important source of immunizations

and medications," says Lynn Rolston, CEO of the California Pharmacists

Association (CPhA). In California, "..whether our next crisis is flooding, wild

fires like we are fighting right now, or pandemic influenza like H1N1,

Pharmacists stand ready to help with information, care and medicines needed by

those displaced," declared Carl Britto, Chairman of the Emergency Preparedness

Committee of CPhA. 



The Ready Campaign is a national public awareness effort designed to help

Americans prepare their families before the next emergency or disaster, by

making a kit and getting a plan. "Preparing your family now, will have an impact

on the outcome of the next disaster said FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate. That`s

why through FEMA`s Ready Campaign we are encouraging all Americans to get an

emergency supply kit, make a family emergency plan and be informed about the

different types of emergencies that can occur in their areas. We appreciate the

continued support of all the organizations helping us to spread this critical

message to American families."
