Grass Fed or Lab Bred Meats — Which Is Better for Your Health and the Environment?

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • Industrial agriculture is one of the most unsustainable practices of modern civilization, contributing to air pollution, water pollution, aquifer depletion, deforestation, rising carbon emissions and the depletion, erosion and poisoning of soils
  • The long-term answer lies in the transition to sustainable, regenerative, chemical-free farming practices, not fake lab-created meat substitutes, which are really just another way to patent and control the food supply
  • Fake meats may ultimately create more problems than they solve, as laboratory derived meat substitutes are not part of the ecological cycle and health hazards are as of yet entirely unknown
  • On April 1, 2019, Burger King started offering the Impossible Whopper, made with a meat substitute, at 59 locations in the St. Louis area. If customer demand turns out to be sufficient, the fake burger will be launched at all 7,200 U.S. locations
  • The meat substitute created by Impossible Foods contains a mix of wheat, coconut oil, potatoes and “heme” derived from genetically engineered yeast

Lab Meats: Oh I can see where this is leading to, most vegetarians find food that looks or smells like meat distasteful. They won't be lining up at burger king, customers that do will want a Real meat offering I'm sure. That then leads us down the road to the cell cultured meat labs (where the "animal" leaves the world as it entered it) and your meat will come grown from the unborn. Some meat will be more sustainable than others and in the future eating such meat that will become normal. We live in an evil world.

Lab Bred Meats - so it's "meat" because it identifies as meat?  lol

Heme?! The coloring matter in blood? The fact is our overlords are right, there are too many god damned people, all trying to live the consumerist life. One way or another, there has to be a massive depopulation.

Growing any kind of mammal cells in a lab, especially muscle, has to be inordinately expensive. They have to be taking a tremendous loss on this virtue signal. It can never be made economical.

I know what your trying to say cheeki may as well just say it. People eating other people and our kids are learning about it right now. laughing but it's true.

Well mb you should get your people to shut it down, thats not normal education and I don't think that this sort of history should see the light of day even if it does meet their agenda.

I'm like the preacher when asked what kind of meat he prefers. "The only kind of meat I choose to eat is nun!"

I don't understand the meat alternative controversy at all, Textured vegetable protein has been around since the seventies made from flavored and texturized soy beans. McDonalds unveiled a sea weed burger back in the 80's sea weed had more protein minerals and iodine than any meat patty and McDonald's sea weed burger was so good you couldn't even taste the dam difference! I wish they brought it back! Not that I ever but rarely go to McDonalds I cook most of my food at home anyway. Laboratory produced meat would be cultured from DNA and cells as the same as would come from a cow without having to slaughter the animal! It could be a viable alternative if not adulterated with chemicals! Or you could go with the Japanese alternative. Regenerated human protein from night mud (human excrement) that has been reconditioned into textured flavored protein roast beef style yum yum meat! Would you eat the shit out of that if you were hungry enough? Maybe sprinkle some steak sauce on it?
