Broun warns of “socialistic elite” and their plans for a dictatorship

Georgia Congressman Paul Broun warned attendees of a town hall event Tuesday that the Obama administration was planning to use a pandemic or a natural disaster to implement martial law in the United States.

Speaking at the North Georgia Technical College auditorium, Broun said that the “socialistic elite,” as well as Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, were planning to exploit a crisis to create a favorable climate for their stalling political agenda.

“They’re trying to develop an environment where they can take over,” he said. “We’ve seen that historically.”

Broun’s warning arrives on the back of a letter sent by The National Governors Association to the Pentagon l..., which condemns the military’s plans to usurp domestic control of National Guard and federal forces deployed in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.

In December 2008 it was announced that at least 20,000 more active duty soldiers will be placed inside the United States under Northcom to “help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe.”

Leading article: This abuse of Tamiflu is dangerous for all of us

Our report today revealing that tens of thousands more people are likely to have received the antiviral drug Tamiflu than actually have swine flu should be a cause for concern for both the health authorities and also the wider public. This over-prescription is obviously a waste of National Health Service resources. But more damaging are the potential medical and social costs of a large number of people taking the antiviral drug when they show no symptoms of the illness.

Children could be given untested swine flu vaccine

The swine flu vaccine which will be offered to 12 million children in the UK may not have been tested on infants by the time the first batches arrive.

Pharmaceutical companies manufacturing the jabs do not have any paediatric safety data for the drugs, which could be distributed to children in the autumn.

The first consignment of the vaccine is due to arrive at the end of this month but drugs firms have only just begun trials on adults.

Trials on children may not start for a few weeks.

THE surprisingly rapid global transmission of the so-called swine flu has captured the attention of the Rudd government and his counterparts in North America and Europe, sparking a worldwide race to develop an effective vaccine. Two Australian biotechnology companies, Adelaide-based Vaxine and Melbourne-based CSL Biotherapies, initiated the first vaccine trials in late July, followed by Europe and the US.
