A digital camera will many times cause the sun to appear black or create a black dot in this case a hot spot do to the glare on the lens. Its caused by the camera sensor's chip being overloaded by the brightness of a hot spot and returning a 'black signal'. nuclear plants
I hope in the wake of the tradgedy in Japan and the nuclear reactor plants leaking radiation that reached our shores that the U.S would do needed upgrades to our own facilities and would take into consideration geographic locations and what kind of natural disasters could take place with placement of nuclear plants in those regions and how that can affect natural infrastructure ie.. water sources, fishing etc because ecological disaster will affect us all.
