Haiti Needs Help - and a Serious Plan

I'm writing this on my blackberry as I am driving to Haiti from the Dominican Republic.
Again, nature has destroyed Haiti’s chances of getting back on its feet - or at least, that is what we are being told.
The truth is that natural disasters in Haiti always prove to be more devastating than in the neighboring Dominican Republic or in Cuba. Lack of infrastructure, deforestation and severe poverty are some of the reasons why.

UN Says Over 200,000 People Displaced in Yemen
Most of the relevant news never makes it into the mainstream media. I've seen several articles today titled, "Why Haiti Has Problems" or something similar and none of them have addresses US corporate control of the country.

Photos From Haiti
When flying over the island that Haiti shares almost 50/50 with the Dominican Republic one notices something strange.
The Dominican Republic is an expanse of green, rolling hills forested with trees and shrubbery. Then Haiti comes into view, a grey/brown expanse of dirt dotted with buildings where the cities lie.
