I have had the opportunity to discuss a variety of topics with some very educated people ranging from politics to religion. Many have different views and beliefs but all have at some point mentioned Watchers, or the feeling of being watched. 

So I looked to see how far back in our history this was mentioned, I was very surprised at what I found, so I thought I would share it with you.

The first word I put in to search for was: Watcher.

On this page the first paragraph reads;

Watcher (Aramaic, עִיר, iyr; Theodotian trans: ir; from the verb ur, "to watch"; Heb. er, "being watchful";^[1] Gk. ἐγρήγοροι, trans: egrḗgoroi; Slav transliteration, Grigori,^[2] "Watchers", "those who are awake"; Chaldean, "guard", "watcher"^[3]) is a term used in connection with angels. Watcher occurs in both plural and singular forms in the Book of Daniel, where reference is made to them being holy. The Apocryphal Books of Enoch refer to both good and bad Watchers, with a primary focus on the rebellious ones.

If you continue reading further down to the section entitled Second Book of Enoch  you will see this referenced in the second paragraph;

 Chapter 18 presents the Grigori as countless soldiers of human appearance, "their size being greater than that of great giants". They are located in the fifth heaven and identified as "the Grigori, who with their prince Satanail rejected the Lord of light".^[14] One version of 2 Enoch adds that their number was 200 myriads.^[15][16][17] Furthermore, some "went down on to earth from the Lord's throne" and there married women and "befouled the earth with their deeds", resulting in confinement under earth.^[14][18] The number of those who descended to earth is generally put at three,^[19] but Andrei A. Orlov, while quoting the text as saying three,^[11] remarks in a footnote that some manuscripts put them at 200 or even 200 myriads.^[2]

If you noticed the word Grigori and wondered like I did what it ment, here is some information on it. I would also like to point out the words I bolded in the above paragraph.

Grigori

Grigori : is the collective name for a group of angels who lost grace, they are also known as watchers.  Originally it is told that the Grigori were sent to look after, guide and assist man during the beginning of civilisation.  Sadly these angels were not suited to this job and instead of playing a positive role they began to teach man sciences that God had deemed to be forbidden.  These subjects included astrology, divination, herb craft and magic.  To compound this, they also began to lust after some of the women they were supposed to be guiding.  In order to cohabitate with these women they even assumed physical forms.  Although the church might argue that angels have no gender and therefore are unable to procreate anyway, the following excerpt from Genesis 6:4, points out that "the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them".  The resulting half-breeds were named as the Nephilim.

This kind of bad angelic behaviour could not be tolerated and as a result the grigori were taken from their posts and imprisoned in a layer of heaven.  Although they appealed to Enoch to speak on their behalf to God, they remained bound for 70 generations.  As for the Nephilim, it has been suggested that one of the main reasons for the great flood, was not only to punish man, but to cleanse the earth of the half-bred creatures created from the union of fallen spirit and flesh.

Now if you noticed they were to be bound for 70 generations, now also notice they were the Watchers or Grigori.

I knew what the word Nephilim stood for but for those of us that do not here is a little background on them.

Who are these beings? A clue to their identity is found in their name--Nephilim. The word itself is Hebrew, and it is first used in Genesis 6:4.

There were giants in the earth in those days: and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Nephilim is translated "giants" in the Authorized King James Version, but "giants" is in no way a complete description.

Commentators like Lange trace the word "Nephilim" to the root "Niphal" meaning "distinguished ones." This corresponds perfectly with the "men of renown" at the end of Genesis 6:4, nevertheless it is not a generally accepted translation.

Others have sought the root of the word in the Hebrew consonants "npl" as found in Psalm 58:8. Here it means "miscarriage." Accepting this theory, the Nephilim would be those superhuman beings that resulted from miscarriages. Genesis Rabbah (26:7) seems to confirm this translation when it states:

Nephilim denotes that they hurled the word down, themselves fell (naflu) from the world, and filled the world with abortions (nephilim) through their immorality. (1)

Most scholars, however, reject both these interpretations and trace the word "Nephilim" to the Hebrew root "Naphal" meaning "to fall." The Nephilim are the "fallen ones." A direct reference to the fallen angels who sired them. Some writers such as Ben Adam believe the word "Nephilim" refers to the fallen angels themselves and not to their offspring.

Because of some uncertainty in the translation of the Hebrew word, more and more Bible versions are now leaving the original word untranslated. Thus the New International Version renders the passage: "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days..." (Genesis 6:4). This also does justice to the fact that the definite article precedes the word in the original. "The Nephilim were on the earth..." The same definite article is also found in the other biblical passage where the word "Nephilim" occurs, namely, Numbers 13:33. "We saw the Nephilim there..."

Interpreting the Nephilim as "the fallen ones" dismisses the suggestion of one modern author that belief in the Nephilim could lead to racism. He fears that people would boast of having celestial blood in their veins and consider themselves superior to those of ordinary, human ancestry. To claim descent from stellar explorers could lead to a class distinction surpassing anything ever seen in society, but he need have no such qualms! If the Nephilim are stellar, they are also infernal. To claim descent from such beings would be to admit an ancestry from Hell.

Although there is no etymological evidence to justify "giants" as an accurate translation for "Nephilim," such a translation is not without merit. In more senses than one, Nephilim were giants.

I started to wonder if these could be the giant skeletons that have been unearthed, reports on such being recorded as far back as 1821. Here is a sampling of the reports, a link will be provided at the bottom of the exert.

Giant Skeletons:

In his book, The Natural and Aboriginal History of Tennessee, author John
Haywood describes "very large" bones in stone graves found in Williamson
County, Tennessee, in 1821. In White County, Tennessee, an "ancient
fortification" contained skeletons of gigantic stature averaging at least 7
feet in length.

Giant skeletons were found in the mid-1800s near Rutland and Rodman, New
York. J.N. DeHart, M.D. found vertebrae "larger than those of the present
type" in Wisconsin mounds in 1876. W.H.R. Lykins uncovered skull bones "of
great size and thickness" in mounds of Kansas City area in 1877.

George W. Hill, M.D., dug out a skeleton "of unusual size" in a mound of
Ashland County, Ohio. In 1879, a nine-foot, eight-inch skeleton was
excavated from a mound near Brewersville, Indiana (Indianapolis News, Nov 10,
1975).

A six foot, six inch skeleton was found in a Utah mound. This was at least a
foot taller than the average Indian height in the area, and these natives-
what few there were of them -were not mound builders.

"A skeleton which is reported to have been of enormous dimensions" was found
in a clay coffin, with a sandstone slab containing hieroglyphics, during
mound explorations by a Dr Everhart near Zanesville, Ohio. (American
Antiquarian, v3, 1880, pg61).

Ten skeletons "of both sexes and of gigantic size" were taken from a mound
at Warren, Minnesota, 1883. (St. Paul Pioneer Press, May 23, 1883)
A skeleton 7 feet 6 inches long was found in a massive stone structure that
was likened to a temple chamber within a mound in Kanawha County, West
Virginia, in 1884. (American Antiquarian, v6, 1884 133f. Cyrus Thomas,
Report on Mound Explorations of the Bureau of Ethnology, 12th Annual Report,
Smithsonian Bureau of Ethnology, 1890-91).

A large mound near Gasterville, Pennsylvania, contained a vault in which was
found a skeleton measuring 7 feet 2 inches. Inscriptions were carved on the
vault. (American Antiquarian, v7, 1885, 52f).

In 1885, miners discovered the mummified remains of woman measuring 6 feet 8
inches tall holding an infant. The mummies were found in a cave behind a
wall of rock in the Yosemite Valley.

In Minnesota, 1888, were discovered remains of seven skeletons 7 to 8 feet
tall. (St. Paul Pioneer Press, June 29, 1888).

A mound near Toledo, Ohio, held 20 skeletons, seated and facing east with
jaws and teeth "twice as large as those of present day people," and besides
each was a large bowl with "curiously wrought hieroglyphic figures."

As I read through the names I noticed a similar sound to some of the names we have now. The first five I could not pull to mind any right off.

An exert from Chapter IX

. And they have gone to the daughters of men upon the earth, and have slept with the women, and have defiled themselves, and revealed to them all kinds of sins. 9. And the women have borne giants, and the whole earth has thereby been filled with blood and unrighteousness.

...and heal the earth which the angels have corrupted, and proclaim the healing of the earth, that they may heal the plague, and that all the children of men may not perish through all the secret things that the Watchers have disclosed and have taught their sons...

If you continue to read about this through your own research over and over again the Watchers are said to be Angles that came from the skies, brought knowledge to the people and took human women as wives and bred with them and defiled themselves, Giants were then born upon the earth, now to put a different swing to this; What if they did come from the skies but they were not Angles, just a different life form from a different solar system?

These are the names of their leaders: Sêmîazâz, their leader, Arâkîba, Râmêêl, Kôkabîêl, Tâmîêl, Râmîêl, Dânêl, Êzêqêêl, Barâqîjâl, Asâêl, Armârôs, Batârêl, Anânêl, Zaqîêl, Samsâpêêl, Satarêl, Tûrêl, Jômjâêl, Sariêl, as recorded in the book of Enoch and also other books from different eras all of them mention the Watchers.

Could it be that we are not just looking at the evidence provided scientifically? Could ( keep the book sacred ) have been misunderstood or misinterpreted, and therefore turned into religious beliefs instead of a history of what has happened over the eons that the human race has been on this spaceship we call home?

Gives us something to ponder.
