9 killed in Charleston church shooting

A white man walked into a historic African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina, and opened fire during a Bible study class, killing nine people Wednesday evening.

The suspect was still at large early Thursday morning. And the shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, the oldest AME church in the South, is being investigated as a hate crime.

“The only reason someone would walk into a church and shoot people that were praying is hate,” said Charleston Mayor Joe Riley.

Eight churchgoers died at the scene; a ninth at a hospital, police said.

Officials wouldn’t say how many people were at the Bible study during the shooting. There were survivors, said Charleston Police Chief Greg Mullen, but he didn’t elaborate.

Historic significance

Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church has been a presence in Charleton since 1816 when African-American members of Charleston’s Methodist Episcopal Church formed their own congregation after a dispute over burial grounds.

It was burned to the ground at one point, but rebuilt.

Every Wednesday evening, the church holds a Bible study in its basement.

The shooting was “obviously the most intolerable and unbelievable act possible,” the mayor said.

“People in prayer Wednesday evening. A ritual, a coming together, praying, worshiping God. An awful person come in and shoot them is inexplicable,” Riley said.

Police received the first call around 9:05 p.m. Officers arrived to find several victims inside.

“It’s really bad. It’s a very bad scene,” local pastor Thomas Dixon said.

Search on for suspect

Police said the suspect in the shooting is a clean-shaven white man in his 20s, with a slender build and sandy blonde hair. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and boots.

Soon afterward, news cameras showed officers taking a man matching that description into custody, but he was later released.

Police said they were still looking for the shooter.

“He obviously is extremely dangerous,” Chief Mullen said. “We will put all our resources, we will put all of our energy in finding this individual.”

The department asked anyone with information to call 911 dispatchers.

“While we do not yet know all of the details, we do know that we’ll never understand what motivates anyone to enter one of our places of worship and take the life of another,” South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said.

Mullen was more direct: “I do believe this was a hate crime.”

‘Sick to our stomachs’

The church sits in an area of Charleston, densely packed with houses of worship and well-preserved old buildings.

The city, as several reverends pointed out, is known as the “Holy City” for its tolerant attitude toward different denominations.

Early Thursday morning, residents stood in circles, hands clasped and heads bowed, as they prayed.

“Like everybody out here, we’re sick to our stomachs that this could happen in a church,” Rep. Dave Mack, a friend of the church’s pastor, said.

They called for justice, but also for calm heads.

Theirs is a strong community, they said, and this incident wouldn’t tear them apart.

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush canceled a scheduled town hall in Charleston on Thursday because of the shooting.

“As the #Charleston police deem this horrific act a hate crime,” the King Center tweeted, “we pray vigorously that this person’s hate does not cultivate more hate.”

As I stated in my comment in the other thread, the shooting was timed perfectly to coincide with both Hillary and Jeb's campaign rallies in South Carolina. Rev Pinckney had just met with Hillary.  Jeb just canceled his visit to Charleston right after the shooting.  The shooter, Dylan Roof, reportedly told his victims, "I have to do it."  Tell-tale sign of MK-ULTRA.

reason #1 to question & research this travesty:

Too bad there wasn't anyone with a concealed carry license in the church. It would have been a different story then.

Alleged Dylann Roof Manifesto Found

A website that appears to have been created by Dylann Roof was found Saturday morning. The“Last Rhodesian” was registered in February 2015.

(On his Facebook account, Roof wore a Rhodesian flag in a photo taken before his alleged attackWednesday on a Charleston black church.) Photos of Roof hosted on the website were taken this spring, according to metadata.

The writer of the text says he was “not raised in a racist environment,” and that the shooting of Trayvon Martin led him to investigate what he called “black on white crime” through the webpage of local hate group Council of Conservative Citizens. “I have no choice. I am not in the position to, alone, go into the ghetto and fight. I chose Charleston because it is most historic city in my state, and at one time had the highest ratio of blacks to Whites in the country,” the author writes. “We have no skinheads, no real KKK, no one doing anything but talking on the internet.

Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me.” The site includes references two films, Romper Stomper (in which Russell Crowe plays a neo-Nazi) andHimzu, a Japanese film in which the protagonist “attempts to improve society by killing ‘bad’ people.”

Dylann Roof: The Racist Killer Who Had Black People As Friends

According to the establishment media, Dylann Roof is a confirmed racist who shot to death nine black people at South Carolina church because he hated them.

Despite this characterization, a black friend of Roof said he did not display animosity toward him or other black people.

“Never once did he say ‘I don’t like black people, I’m going to kill black people,’” Christon Scriven told The Associated Press on Friday.

Conveniently Timed Racist “Manifesto” Appears

Now a racist “manifesto” has surfaced, allegedly penned by Roof.

According to Gawker, it was discovered on a website registered under Dylann Roof’s name, lastrhodesian.com, discovered through a Reverse Whois lookup on domaintools.com.

The document is rife with stereotypical racist talking points about black people. In addition to racist commentary about blacks, the short document denounces Jews, Hispanics and East Asians.

dylann-roof-cops

“Anyone who thinks that White and black people look as different as we do on the outside, but are somehow magically the same on the inside, is delusional. How could our faces, skin, hair, and body structure all be different, but our brains be exactly the same? This is the nonsense we are led to believe,” the document attributed to Roof states.

Interestingly, the document covers the Trayvon Martin shooting.

“The event that truly awakened me was the Trayvon Martin case,” the document states.

It was obvious that Zimmerman was in the right. But more importantly this prompted me to type in the words “black on White crime” into Google, and I have never been the same since that day. The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White murders. I was in disbelief. At this moment I realized that something was very wrong. How could the news be blowing up the Trayvon Martin case while hundreds of these black on White murders got ignored?

This startement will be used in deductive fashion by the corporate media to portray critics of Tryavon Martin, defenders of the self-defense actions of George Zimmerman, and those who cite black-on-white crime as racists on par with Dylann Roof.

Liberals Use “Manifesto” to Attack Skeptics

The liberal media has seized on this unverified document as evidence that Roof is a racist terrorist.

News.Mic went one step further.

The contents leave no doubt that the shooting was racially motivated, as it is full of justifications of white supremacy, neo-Nazi symbology such as references to the number 88 and racist diatribes against people of color.

Mic has chosen to republish excerpts from the manifesto in order to dispel any explanations for the attack that ignore the role the politics of white supremacy played in this terrible crime.

Updated Friday, June 19, 10:10 a.m. EDT: Dylan Storm Roof told authorities that he “almost didn’t go through” with the horrific shooting spree at a South Carolina church Wednesday night “because everyone was so nice to him,” sources told NBC News

Despite the welcome he received at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Roof concluded that he had to “go through with his mission,” killing nine people as he opened fire during the late-night prayer meeting.

Yep, I agree with the others: he looks mind controlled.
