A man arrested this week as part of the sex abuse investigation sparked by the Jimmy Savile scandal is another BBC star, it has been reported.

The 64-year-old was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of historic sex offences as part of Operation Yewtree.

However, police and the BBC have refused to confirm the identity of the TV and radio star, in what campaigners have described as a 'chilling' attempt to suppress information.
