Press TV reporter Serena Shim was killed on Sunday on a car accident in Suruch, Turkey.
"Press TV’s representative at the crash site says Turkish Gendarmerie refuses to cooperate in the case. The identity and the whereabouts of the truck driver remain unknown. There is still no reaction from Ankara."
Serena Shim's family believes that Turkish authorities are responsible for her death and plan to pursue the matter legally.
According to a Turkish website Urfa, Selena Shim died in a car accident with a concrete mixer truck in Suruc, Urfa Province. Her car had lost control and collided with the truck as said by the truck driver Şükrü Salan who was slightly injured and released after his statement to the police. There is a curious detail about the photo in Veterans Today article and the Urfa website, they are not the same. The car in this article is black, while the Turkish site photo has a white car. However, there may have been several cars involved in the accident.
It is a great loss.
