Noosphere is happy to announce that it recently coordinated the successful acquisition of Ning Inc assets. Under the terms of the acquisition PSCP Holdings Limited acquired the business and will operate it under the newly formed entity Ning Interactive Inc. The Ning brand is an important member of their social discovery division's portfolio of technology assets, and the experienced management of the division will oversee the transition to Ning Interactive Inc.

We are excited about the acquisition and expect to invest in our team, infrastructure, and system upgrades and are committed to improving the overall customer experience. While the deal was being hammered out behind closed doors, our team here has been working to prioritize a few things we’ll be working on in the immediate future.

Price Increase Rollback. We’re putting all plans to discontinue the Ning Mini and raise Ning Plus and Pro prices on hold for the time being. Our first and foremost priority is to get back to work improving the platform with results you can see before doing anything about raising your prices. Inconsistent Uptime. Our Status Blog has been getting more of a workout than any of us like these days, and we know our uptime hasn’t been as consistent as it once was. One of our most important goals is to work to limit downtime and improve uptime.

Bug Fixes. Turnaround time on bug fixes has also slowed in the past few years. We’ll be working to improve this and have started tracking some of the more visible bugs and their fixes on our Known & Recently Resolved Issues page.

New Features. We know there are a number of features you’ve requested, and we’ve started work on smaller improvements and planning for new features. You can find more information about our first new release here.

We’re fully aware of the recent network availability issues plaguing some of you and your members and have already begun the infrastructure improvements to resolve this. We’ll share more information about our upcoming plans and improvements here on Creators under Announcements from Ning, so please stay tuned!

Ok, it is official the price increase is not happening YET.

General site future update -

We started our fundraiser back in July, since then, the parent company of our site's host Ning went bankrupt. Mode media was valued at one billion at the time surprisingly.

When Mode collapsed, they claimed to have sold off Ning to another company who now says they  are not the owners. Pure madness from Wall street. Ning put out a release last week and said they would announce the new owner the following day. As of today, they havent.

Who owns Ning? We just dont know.

For now the site's future is bleak, when Mode collapsed the infrastructure failed, and 12160 was not accessible to me or many others for two weeks in September.
A lot of of the site has errors, most dont see, yet its pervasive and worsening.

When we started the gofundme page, there was a series of weeks where it appeared to be working and it actually was not. This turned out to be a blessing.

Had we reached our goal for a full years web hosting, we may have given it to a company that also may collapse.

We will be paying a higher monthly rent when we dont pay for a year in advance. Thankfully all you wonderful folks have funded this site for many more months.

THAT IS - IF OUR SITE DOESNT FALL APART DUE TO ERRORS OR OUR WEB HOST COMPANY ENDS UP BANKRUPT!

Thanks to Less Prone, we have a site back up , hopefully preserving this sites 8 years of member contributions.

For now on, we will be paying month to month, and collecting donations for future months or a possible new sew site home. Thank you all!

Acquisition Update

We’re happy to report that we have a bit more information we can now share publicly with you. While Cyndx LLC took over Ning operations last week, they were ultimately outbid by another company, which has entered into an agreement with Mode Media to acquire Ning.

We can’t yet share the name of this company with you but will make an official announcement tomorrow with more information.
