Harper calls action on Libya an ‘act of war
March 19, 2011
As the international community launched aerial military missions against Libya on Saturday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the action amounts to an “act of war” that is critical to remove Moammar Gaddafi from power before he massacres any more of his own people.

Commons approves Libyan 'war' motion
March 21, 2011 - The Canadian Press
OTTAWA - The Harper government rallied opposition parties to "war" Monday, casting Canada's military intervention in the Libyan crisis as a moral imperative.
After describing military action against Libya as "war" during a meeting of world leaders in Paris, Harper worked the telephones with the opposition leaders to drum up support for the government's motion.
The Liberals said early on they would support it, but leader Michael Ignatieff expressed reservations about the fuzzy war aims of the international coalition arrayed against the Libyan regime.
The air force took pains to say its pilots and crews, which have not participated in a shooting war in a dozen years, are up for the challenge.

Libyan air war may cost U.S. $1 billion: report
March 30, 2011 - The Canadian Press
The study, dated Monday but released online Wednesday, was a quick snapshot of the air war for an increasingly cost-conscious U.S. administration, which has been publicly eager to hand off control of the war to NATO.
The Libyan deployment was approved unanimously by the House of Commons on March 21, but there was little discussion about cost. The Harper government was authorized to conduct the war for three months before coming back for an extension.

I would have to agree with you - he waffled a couple years ago with his impeachment issue against G.W. BUSH - however, I also believe that he lost some of his supporters, and as that was taking place, it seemed some what suspect...that it might have been a bit of a charade.

I am dubious now, that this may only be a little act, to throw the American people off their trail of deceit - that there are still good people fighting in Congress for them.

Good guys always finish last...

It also seems like a big change for anyone, to switch from one camp - democrat - to another - republican. Perhaps this was a good thing in his case...the situation as it is now.

I don't agree with everything that Kucinich stands for but I must admit that this is one politician with some big coconuts! He's going against his own party and that speaks volumes in todays political arena of left/right BS!!! It's nice to know there's a few good guys still left on the hill.
