Protesters temporarily block Downtown Connector

A human blockade formed on I-75/85 northbound Wednesday evening, and its purpose may be related to the August police shooting in Ferguson, Mo., according to reports on Twitter.

Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee said a number of protesters were present on the Downtown Connector near Freedom Parkway. Authorities continue to gather information on the incident.

People on Twitter are writing in support of the protest used the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter.
