Breaking News: Federal Deficit Tops $1.27 Trillion, a New Record

The federal deficit climbed higher into record territory in July, hitting $1.27 trillion with two months remaining in the budget year.

Though 247,000 jobs were lost in July, the numbers are better than expected.
