While private households becoming more self sufficient by installing their own power sources seems a good idea, the power companies would not agree. Solar power is getting more and more efficient and can soon become a serious alternative.

Plain and simple, very much like the GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) labeling laws passed in Connecticut, the consumers in California have the right to know what goes into their food via explicit and state government mandated food ingredient labeling.
