One of the main rules is not to broadcast you are a prepper locally unless you know the other person is. There was a boy in our small town appeared on TV, Doomsday Preppers, and a friend of ours went around laughing at the preps shown on the show and telling people he had a fraction of what we had done. That ain't good. I do believe in hooking up with others, even helping others, but not advertising it. :)

Nathan, we grew up when I was a kid with a fridge, but honestly we wouldn't have missed it. I can't say that today though since I'm domesticated, lol. Back then we didn't have a freezers either and we depend on them heavily now, so much so that we have 2 ways to back them up easily and a 3rd that would take some effort, but could be done. I would love to have a Cellar though... maybe in the plans for later.
