Strange cycling event

Paris - Nice race over 6 days has astounded observers. Normally there would be 3-5 retirements due to injuries sustained in crashes. This time, of 180 starters, the last stage featured only 76 riders! The commentators kept silent.
This was a strangest bike race I have ever watched and I'm afraid we will see that happening over many more sporting events
