One of the stories Bartell related was about Svetlana, a young Russian woman. She was promised a well-paying job in Istanbul, Turkey, by two men. Once she arrived, her passport and money were taken away, and she was locked up and forced into prostitution. Desperate to escape, she jumped out of a window when she was with a customer and fell six stories. Instead of taking her to the hospital, the customer called the traffickers. Untreated, she ultimately died.

Ottawa has bribed our BC politicians to let the central government set tax policy in BC.

British Columbians must be clear what the real issue is. We must not waste our energy attacking the wrong target.

So if this HST fight is not about what is the best tax – VAT or Retail Sales tax or GST,

And if it is not about which tax collection method is most efficient,

And if it is not about another increase in the huge tax load we are forced to pay.

Crushing The Testicles Of Children? Sure!

John Yoo, a member of the college staff at Berkeley is perhaps worse then Dick Cheney, if that's even possible but according to Yoo it's perfectly OK to massacre villages of civilians and crush children's testicles in front of their parents. Prisoners shackled in diapers in awkward positions is OK too. I think it's safe to say that anything goes.
