In a recent decision that reaches new lows, the weak and neutered Obama administration has bowed to its masters in Israel with regards to the Durban 2, the UN's conference on racism. This news comes on the heels of alleged back and forth dialog between US State Department officials and Israeli officials on some of the language of the text of the Durban 2 document which is critical of Israel's ongoing occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.
A few week ago we posted about ten billboards going up around Albuquerque, NM calling for congress to cut off aid to Israel. They were put up by The Coalition to Stop $30 Billion to Israel, a multi-ethnic, multi-religious coalition working to "end to the ten year commitment of $30 billion in U.S. taxpayer-funded military aid pledged to Israel in 2007 by the Bush administration."

8.9 percent in April

The collapse of the job market continued in April, with unemployment surging nearly a half percentage point to 8.9 percent as businesses laid off another 539,000 workers, the Labor Department reported Friday morning.
