Whenever there is injustice, there are people fighting it with every possible means. We have seen it so many times before: the oppressed rise up, the oppressor dehumanizes them calling them such names as "terrorists", "saboteurs", "death loving" extremists... It is only normal that the oppressor will always lie to justify his actions and its crimes.
What is different in the case of Palestine, is that the Israeli… Continue
TRNN interviews relatives of recently assassinated men in Nablus, Occupied Palestinian Territories
In recent weeks Israel has escalated its practice of assassinations in the West Bank and Gaza. At the end of December, Israeli special forces broke into the Nablus homes of Anan Subih, Raed Surkaji, and Ghassan Abu Sharekh and killed them. Official Israeli sources linked the three to the killing of… Continue

It is no surprise that much of the attention over Mervyn King’s speech on Tuesday night has focused on his double warning to the Government that: 1. this recovery will feel very downbeat for some time and 2. Alistair Darling should beware the market and slash the deficit in the Budget this year. After all, although the Governor may have felt he was doing his best to avoid being seen as overly critical of Downing Street, that wasn’t… Continue

The Obama administration has taken extraordinary measures to prevent desperate Haitians from entering the US since a January 12 earthquake devastated the Caribbean nation, killing an estimated 200,000, making at least 1.5 million homeless, and orphaning 1 million children. The effort to bar Haitians from entering the US—including the wounded seeking medical treatment—illustrates that the priority of the US-led intervention is not to save lives, but to establish military… Continue

If used in a product, MSG must be listed on the label. But if the product was made with another ingredient that already had MSG in it, the label need not have MSG listed.
If that isn’t deceiving enough for those of us that suffer from eating things with MSG in them, MSG can go by a myriad of aliases such as:
The former American military chief of the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq reiterates the Israeli involvement in the US-run facility, where hundreds of Iraqi suspects were tortured and sexually abused by US soldiers and interrogators.
Shedding further light on the scandal that has served as a controversy-magnet for Washington ever since its emergence in 2004, the retired US army colonel Janis Karpinski says that Israeli agents were recruited by the US military at Abu Ghraib to… Continue

Here in the great State of Massachusetts, a great many irritated people, tired of immense taxation, voted for a pretty decent, hard working fellow from a local town to represent their interests and to oppose D.C. desires, as State Senator.
And it’s good as far as it goes. It might hold up the massive health care fraud. It does announce that many old Dems will be vacating their positions soon, and Congress and the Senate will see some new blood, most of which will be quickly… Continue
I can't post the video from Democracy Now but I'll provide a link below. Listen to the American doctor working at the main general hospital just blocks from the Presidential Palace in downtown Port Au Prince. There Are No Security Issues in Haiti. He is adamant that the press is hyping riots and looting to allow for troops to be deployed and insists that he's living with friends and circulating in Haiti's downtown areas until 2 and 3 in the morning and there are no security… Continue

I believe that almost all diseases we experience here in the US are directly related to the military/industrial/corporate complex. Diabetes is perhaps the result of diet and food additives, cancers the result of continued release of nuclear waste into the environment. But all diseases have an environmental chemical pollutant element to them. We're killing ourselves, very simply.
In 2005 India announced a new military doctrine called Start Cold mainly targeting Pakistan as its potential enemy. In November 2009, Indian army chief made a statement that there is a possibility of a limited war between Pakistan and India in a nuclear overhang. In December 2009, Indian chief announced that India is ready to take on both Pakistan and China in a ‘two front war’ simultaneously. These statements spurred a… Continue

WASHINGTON — Scott Brown’s decisive Senate victory in Massachusetts imperiled the fate of the Democratic health care overhaul as House Democrats indicated they would not quickly approve a Senate-passed health care measure and send it to President Obama.
After a meeting of House Democratic leaders Tuesday night even as Mr. Brown’s victory was being declared, top lawmakers said they were weighing their options. But the prospect of passing the health care overhaul by pushing the Senate… Continue

It's hard to know where to begin with this profoundly important story by Scott Horton, for next month's Harper's Magazine (available on the web here), but let's try this: The three "suicides" at Guantánamo in June 2006 were not suicides at all. The men in question were killed during interrogations in a… Continue
