Fetishizing the Trigger

Jay Michaelson

A version of this essay appears in the author's new book, Everything Is God: The Radical Path of Nondual Judaism, to be released this month by Trumpeter.

There was once a prisoner who yearned for freedom. One day, the prophet Mohammed appeared to him, and gave him a set of keys to his cell,… Continue

The Dow is Up but Your House is Gone

October 16, 2009

By Grant Lawrence

opednews.com

Despite concerted government-led and lender-supported efforts to prevent foreclosures, the number of filings hit a record high in the third quarter, according to a report issued Thursday.

"They were the worst three months of all time," said Rick Sharga, spokesman for RealtyTrac, an online marketer of… Continue

Deepening Financial Crisis- Bob Chapman

Our view is that the elitists are currently buying time for the dollar, and stalling the rally in precious metals, by weakening other currencies until they are ready for the big stock takedown/correction. This process of supporting the dollar is becoming extremely expensive and difficult, so they had to take the Dow down 200 points on Thursday to start some stock contagion in Asia and Europe to flush some money into dollars and treasuries.

The FTSE, Nikkei and Hang Seng were all down… Continue

Kid To Obama: ‘Why Does Everyone Hate You?’

Kids are so funny because they always seem to say exactly what is on their minds, and many time they are 100% correct..

President Barack Obama fielded some tough questions from a town hall crowd in New Orleans today, but none as harsh as the final query of the day.

“Why does everyone hate you?” asked nine-year-old Tyren Scott.

Tyren, a fourth-grader at Paulina Elementary School in Paulina, La., then said that he loves Obama. “That’s what I’m talking about!” the… Continue

The Rebel Media Group

When looking at how our rulers are treating us, I’m always reminded of scenes in a slaughter house. Some of the animals do realise what’s about to happen, but the system of gates, barriers and tasers force them to march into their certain death.

Only a small minority of us have the mental capacity to recognise that our world is just a Matrix-like virtual reality and that we are blindly marching towards a one-world tyranny. Even fewer of us have the psychological make-up to stand up… Continue

Not in the mainstream media as far as I can see......

A quick search shows that "traditional" news media is blatantly disregarding this story....

This is great ammunition for when they (military forces) come to quell armed insurrection a la: "This is how your employer treats you."

How we treat our troops

The noose tightens a little more....

In case anyone didn't know.... Soon Californians are going to have to provide a thumbprint and ID to buy ammunition. As the article points out, 90% of all gangbangers use stolen materials (like ammunition) anyway.

In other words, the finest rifle in the world, without ammunition, is a really expensive club.

If you're looking for work, don't look in California

By Jim Christie - Analysis

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - If you're looking for work, don't look in California.

The world's eighth largest economy is still finding its feet after suffering multiple economic shocks, including a housing slump, mortgage crisis and recession.

Employers in California, the most populous U.S. state, are expected to keep cutting staff in 2010 as the wider U.S. jobs market recovers.

As industries in other U.S. states prepare to rehire on… Continue

Sticker Shock at the Supermarket: Food Prices Poised to Rise

October 15, 2009

Dan Burrows

DailyFinance

If there's any silver lining to a recession -- albeit a thin one -- it's that consumer prices typically go down. Make no mistake, deflation is a sign of a sick economy, but at least the net effect of cheaper prices for the basic necessities -- food, clothing and shelter -- helps folks get by when they are struggling to make ends meet

But consumers should brace themselves for things to change, especially at the…

Thanks to Stephanie Gaskell, New York Daily News Staff writer, we read of the above’s shocking news, which New York City and the US governments seemingly refuse to let sink into their thick heads and even thicker skin. Thousands of first responders are in dire health conditions, and consequently dire financial and familial conditions, due to illnesses contracted while working at…

CBO Says Climate Bill Will Hurt Not Help Economy

Marc Sheppard

Today, the director of the Congressional Budget Office warned the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee that proposed climate change legislation would impose "significant costs" on America's GDP and employment. That’s not exactly what proponents had promised.

According to CBO chief Douglas Elmendorf, the Waxman-Markey bill passed in the House last June would reduce GDP by between one and three quarters of a percent by 2020, and between 1 and… Continue

Blame crisis on corporate greed: Rudd (Australia)

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=876258

Rampant corporate greed caused the global financial crisis, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says.

Speaking at a function for the Brotherhood of St Laurence in Melbourne, exactly a year after he announced the first emergency measures to combat the local effects of the global meltdown, Mr Rudd blamed corporate executives for creating the worst economic downturn in 75 years.

"Tonight, around the world there are tens… Continue

The End of Money and the Future of Civilization

Review of Thomas Greco's book

by Richard C. Cook

It’s too late for anyone to pretend that the U.S. government, whether under President Barack Obama or anyone else, can divert our nation from long-term economic decline. The U.S. is increasingly in a state of political, economic, and moral paralysis, caught as it were between the “rock” of protracted recession and the “hard place” of terminal government… Continue
