Buy a gun that has a common ammo,  9mm is everywhere,  (as a for instance)  Practice PRACTICE PRACTICE   Buy ammo weekly,  vacuum seal it,  then date the bag and stow.    Buy lots of ammo,   Amazing how many .22 rounds you can buy....  I know no one likes the .22 rounds, but in a properly set up rifle they are effective.   Mossad's chief killer in the late 70's early 80's used a .22 and had a 100% success rate.   No matter how many, much, volume of guns, ammo and toys,  Unless you can hit the mark under all s0rts of conditions -  Wear a glove on your shooting hand,  force yourself to shoot with the non shooting hand,  If you get injured and can not shoot your gun...  etc... anyone on the range can hit a target, but under stress and bullets coming back at you.  etc...  can you still be effective.   TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN.
